Chris Starbird has 20 years experience as a naturalist, guide and teacher.
He holds a Master's Degree in Marine Science from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. Chris has worked in the field studying Sea Turtles, Himalayan Snow Cocks, Spotted Owls, and Mountain Lions. From 1990-1998, sea turtles became the focus of his studies in Costa Rica, Mexico, Indonesia and the Caribbean.
Chris has worked as a high school teacher and has lead trips for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in Southeast Alaska. He also directed a high schools outdoor education program that took over 150 kids on trips ranging from Florida to Alaska. Chris holds national certifications from the American Canoe and Kayak Association, the American Mountain Guide Association and the Wilderness Medicine Institute. |

Jennifer Pironis is an avid naturalist who loves to share her knowledge with her clients. Whether exploring the natural history of local birds, whales, marine invertebrates, or plants, her enthusiasm is contagious. Formally trained as a veterinarian, as well as a field naturalist, her appreciation of nature is coupled with a broad knowledge base of general biology and ecology. She has worked with whooping cranes through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and volunteers her time with seabird research at the Point Reyes Bird Observatory and with elephant seal guided tours at Año Nuevo State Reserve.
Jennifer also brings a wealth of paddling expedition experience from her personal trips to places such as the Everglades, the Channel Islands, and British Columbia. She has maintained strong back-country camping, kayaking, and first aid skills through additional training with the American Canoe Association, the Wilderness Medical Institute, and the National Outdoor Leadership School.
